Common questions
Why can’t HangIt start the AR view?
HangIt needs camera permission and an ARKit-capable iPhone or iPad. Open Settings, find HangIt, and make sure Camera is enabled. Then return to a well-lit room and slowly point the device at a wall.
Why does an item look too large or too small?
Open the item settings and confirm its physical width and height. Image proportions describe the picture; the dimensions tell HangIt how large to render it in the room.
Can I use my own art or photo?
Yes. Add an image from Photos, Files, the camera, or the iOS share sheet, then enter its real measurements. HangIt keeps your custom items in My Items for reuse.
What is a .hangititem file?
It is HangIt’s portable item format. It keeps an image together with its title, dimensions, and frame choice so another HangIt user can import the same item.
How do shared HangIt links work?
A shared link opens directly in HangIt when the app is installed. Otherwise it opens a web page with App Store and .hangititem download options. Anyone with the random link can download the item until the expiry date shown on that page.
Where did my room setup go?
Open Saved in HangIt to find saved scenes. Tracking quality can vary when a room is dark or has changed significantly, so give the app a moment to recognize the space again.
