Privacy policy

Your walls are personal. Your data should be too.

HangIt is designed to do its core work on your device. This policy explains what the app and this website use, what stays local, and what can leave your device when you ask it to.

Information used by the app

HangIt uses the camera to understand walls and place virtual items in augmented reality. Camera frames are processed for that experience; HangIt does not send us a live camera feed.

Images you select or capture, item titles, physical dimensions, frame choices, and saved scenes are stored on your device in HangIt’s local storage. The current app does not require an account and does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

Information used by this website

The HangIt app periodically requests a catalogue manifest, catalogue documents, and images from HangIt servers so it can show available items and keep them up to date. These requests may disclose your IP address, app and device network headers, requested path, and timestamp to our server, storage provider, and network proxy. They are used to deliver the catalogue, prevent abuse, and diagnose reliability problems.

This website does not create customer profiles, run advertising, or set non-essential analytics cookies. Normal server and proxy logs are retained only for a limited period appropriate to security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.

Imports, exports, and sharing

When you choose to import an image from a URL, HangIt retrieves that image so it can create an item. When you export or share a HangIt item, the resulting file can contain the image, title, physical dimensions, and frame choice. You decide where that file goes, and the receiving service’s privacy terms apply.

When you create a sharing link, HangIt uploads that item file to our private object storage. The random link acts as the key: anyone who receives it can download and import the item, so share it only with people you trust. Shared items are not listed publicly and do not require an account.

Retention

Local items and scenes remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Shared-item links expire after the retention period shown on their web page (30 days by default), and the stored item is scheduled for automatic deletion. Support messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain service history, and meet legal obligations. Operational website logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to security and troubleshooting.

Your choices

You can revoke camera or photo access in iOS Settings, delete items and saved scenes in HangIt, or remove the app and its local data. You can also ask about a support conversation by contacting us at the address below.
